Tamara E. Holmes is a Washington, DC-based writer and editor. She has written extensively about personal finance topics such as credit cards, homeownership, saving and investing for more than two decades. In addition to writing for CreditCards.com, Holmes has penned articles for such publications as USA Today, Working Mother, Essence, AARP, Diversity Woman, Bankrate.com and LendingTree. Through all of her writing, Holmes is also interested in how money can be used to expand opportunities and create a just society where all people have equal opportunities. To that end, she authored a reference book titled Minorities: A Changing Role In American Society, and served as an editor for the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia where she edited the displays for the museum’s inaugural exhibit.
Before her work helping consumers manage their money, Holmes served as the technology editor for USATODAY.com. During that time, she wrote a syndicated Answer Desk column where she helped consumers learn tips and tricks to make technology work for them. Holmes is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and can be found on LinkedIn, Twitter, or through her personal web site.
